SmileTrain – nonprofit organization for cleft lip & pallet surgery
The Goal
We’ve partnered with SmileTrain to help them with their overall portfolio of promotional merchandise aimed at furthering recognition and boosting their relationships amongst donors, their providers, and recipients. This recently included celebrating their 25th anniversary!
The Process
SmileTrain provides cleft-repair surgeries at no cost to children’s families in developing countries. We work with their fundraising team to provide tools and merchandise that encourages higher and repeat donations while strengthening each donor’s connection with the nonprofit’s amazing work. Our work with SmileTrain not only engages and rewards their donors, but provides toys and other fun activities for their young recipients, as well as creating apparel and other collateral for their providers.
The Solution
Successful fundraising and mission-support items have included:
- Custom Silicone wristbands
- Trendy caps and t-shirts
- Umbrellas and golf towels
- Backpacks, fanny packs, custom drawstring bags, and totes
- Laptop sleeves and luggage for providers
- Headsets for their phone bank volunteers

- Plush bears with SmileTrain t-shirts and fully custom plush trains
- Stickers sheets, coloring books, and Color-Me Totes
- Scrub sets for doctors and nurses
- Aprons and chef hats for family cooking events
- Table throws and QR code napkins for banquets
- Onesies for their youngest recipients
The Result
Since 2010, Dogs at Work has been supplying SmileTrain with a plethora of giveaways items to promote their cause. Specifically, the teddy bears that we supply SmileTrain have become little superstars themselves— every child who has benefitted from a cleft palate surgery receives a bear, and the bears are often part of SmileTrain’s promotional campaigns.
