Increase foot traffic at the Victorinox Swiss Army booth during their big annual trade show (the PPAI Expo) by creating an experience with deeper engagement.

The Process

In the past VSA had done a number-matching contest (where attendees find another attendee at the expo with the same number from VSA) using tote bags. They wanted to replicate the sense of fun that previous contest had produced, but needed to freshen up the concept and not replicate the same format, as tote bags were a common expo giveaway and not the best solution for a brand known for selling premium bags and luggage.

The Solution

We collaborated with Swiss Army to evaluate their options, and the decision was made to create a number-matching contest by using simple yet functional carabiner neoprene zippered pouches with sequential numbering displayed using hang tags. The giveaway could be accessorized a multitude of ways without getting buried in a sea of convention tote bags.

The Result

By the close of the event, they had gotten 20 matches, or 40 winners! The contest was a hit, and the value very apparent. VSA hopes to expand upon this idea with more aggressive advertising and preparation time for future events to make the contest a hugely successful annual tradition.
